Over the years I have had many accounts with Adwords, spending great sums of money using Adwords. So naturally I have discovered many cost saying methods. I am aware that most people think that Adwords costs an arm and leg with little results to show for it that is for sure not true. Adwords has been brought here to help us, so I have written this article to help web developers make the best out of the service.
1) Make sure you select the right currency
To begin with, choose the currency of which you topically purchase things in. You may think it is best to start your Adwords account in USD, but if you do not live in the USA you may get a shock when you discover how much you have been billed.
2) Use negative keywords
You are utilising the Adwords program to obtain site traffic, so it's a must you receive the correct traffic to receive profits. Start by using all the negative keywords for customers you do not want to mouse click on your Google ad, the best place you can start is the keyword 'free'. As I do not think you'd want to consume profits on site traffic that you won't make money from.
3) Make a rigorous daily budget
It's important you put together a good day-to-day budget; Adwords generally advise you to don't over budget yourself. Because to be honest, most Adwords users have absolutely no idea how effective the advertising will be. Don't start off to fast; your pocket will feel it.
Despite having a well put together budget, make yourself aware of the CPC rate. I recommend you start off with low numbers, each mouse click eventually adds up. I discovered that by lowering my CPC rate by 50 percent I twofold my visitor count?
4) Analyse your clicks
A big problem using Adwords is mouse click fraud. There are currently two types of mouse click fraud: the first one is when someone clicks away at your ad rapidly trying to waste your money. It is very hard to stop this kind of fraud, if you find that you're a victim stop your ads and file a report to Google so they can tackle it.
The second thing is that today Google allows web developers to earn money off their websites by placing ads (AdSense). Some web designers try to manipulate the system by clicking on their own ads as much as possible. The best way to stop this kind of fraud is check your page logs; Adwords gives you the option of blocking certain sites that you don't want your advertisement to show up on.
Adwords has only a few protections that help prevent click fraud, though they do disable AdSense accounts who break the rules. Google tend to be very hesitant to refund the victims, if at all. Reports out there suggest that companies are actually suing Google to get the money lost back, so be careful.
This article has shown the best ways to make an extra saving when utilising Adwords. My main advice to you is, do not go crazy with your spending. You may not see the results you are after; it takes some time to master Adwords. I have set-up many successful ads using Google's network. However I do advise you to look around, with the ever growing popularity of MSN's Adcenter you might discover it to be more affordable.
