While many people get married in churches every year, an increasing number of people are looking for alternatives to churches. If you're interested in getting married in an alternative wedding venue, read on to find out about some of the options open to you. For instance, if you would like a low-key event for your wedding or perhaps a non-religious ceremony, one option that quite a few people make is to get married in a state register office such as city hall.
Another option that provides you with a wide range of choice in terms of venue is to get married in a hotel. The fact that there are so many hotels where weddings are carried out means you can choose one to suit your tastes, whether you want something big or small. Also, using a hotel can make planning easier if you have lots of people traveling to get to your wedding as it offers on-site accommodation, removing the need for alternative accommodation arrangements.
Castles and other old buildings are also really great choices of wedding venue, as they really capture a spirit of tradition, which is largely what weddings are about. They also provide options for some modern luxuries, too, as well as often having some gorgeous scenery in the nearby surroundings. This combination makes them ideal for weddings and you can often also make things more cost effective by getting a catering and ceremony package in one go, which makes castles even more appealing.
Outdoor weddings are another great alternative to the church. For example, from fields and meadows to any other location you can think of, there is a great range of choice for outdoor weddings so you're sure to be able to find something suitable. Beach weddings are especially popular, and make for a really nice spring or summer location, particularly if you would like to have a wedding that is slightly less formal than usual - and many people do, so this could be one to consider.
Lastly, you could decide to go for a more unusual wedding venue for your big day. For example, cultural venues can be a really nice choice, with theaters and music halls both making really good options. Also, if you are marrying a sports fan, they're sure to love you even more if you arrange to marry them on the home plate of a baseball stadium or even on the pitch at their favorite football club - and it will certainly be a very different wedding experience to a church!
