Children should be appreciated and encouraged for all kind of the successes and feats they achieve during their academic session, not just in studies and sports. When every good aspect of a student’s personality is acknowledged and appreciated, it routinely brings out the best attitude out of the student and enhances the quality of his overall performance. The importance of appreciation and encouragement cannot be denied or overlooked if improvement of the class performance and productivity is required. The following should always be the factors on which students be awarded for their performance via primary teaching resource stickers, reward stickers or certificates.
Discipline
Discipline is the best virtue a student can possess. A student who does not possess discipline is not prone to any kind of knowledge or learning. Discipline in the class is fundamental to create the healthy atmosphere of learning and wisdom. Students are often urged to maintain discipline and are threatened of consequences if they fail to do so. Instead of using threatening tactics, rewarding the most well disciplined students of the class is a real good way to appreciate their quality of listening to their teachers. This will help to maintain obedience and regulation in class without any hassle of punishments or other means.
Responsiveness and attentiveness
A teacher never wants to teach a class full of dull and uninteresting students. But “all work and no play, makes jack a dull boy” is true. There comes a time when the atmosphere of class just comes to a standstill and becomes stagnant. The reason behind this is the lack of appreciation or appreciative activities for the students who try every day to give their undivided and absolute attention to their lessons. When such attitude is ignored by the teachers, they stop paying attention to their lessons. This problem can be overcome by rewarding the most attentive and responsive students of the class by certificates or shields for their achievements.
Punctuality
Punctuality is a trait which is required and appreciated everywhere and by everyone. Then why the punctual students should not be appreciated for their regularity? Ignoring this important attribute of a student’s character can bring out very negative reactions from a student’s personality. Encouragement of punctuality of a student appreciates and urges other students to be punctual as well. Awarding attendance certificates to the students who had been punctual throughout the academic session generate feelings of goodwill and keep the motivation alive in the student.
Handwriting
Students should also be appreciated for their handwriting. Handwriting is rightly an appreciative attribute of a student. No teacher likes to go through dirty assignments and reports, but what about the students who complete their work in good handwriting? Appreciation on good handwriting is something which is often ignored by the teachers. Even encouraging these little factors help to generate positive attitude and behaviour from the students, and this is the requirement of virtually every teacher. If one student is respectful to his teacher while the other misbehaves, who is the better of them? Obviously, the answer will be in preference for the latter. Then why should respect and reverence for teachers be ignored? Students who are respectful for their teachers also deserve to be awarded.
Most commonly, students are required to be equally proficient and profound in all subjects including arts, mathematics, general science, English literature etc. The students who are accomplished in all subjects are decorated and awarded with medals for gaining top rankings in the class. If a student is exceptionally well in arts but not in mathematics and science, he is most often ignored for his individual talent. In other words, individuality is not cherished in schools the way it should be. Students should be and must be appreciated for their individual talent and flair.
These primary teaching resource stickers, reward stickers and attendance certificates are maybe the best way to appreciate and commend the different variety of talent and attributes that every different student possess. Two students will never be the same. One might be good at math while other can be a born artist. It does not mean in any way that the former is better than the latter. Every student has the right to be appreciated for the good qualities, and uniqueness in every student should be cherished evenly.
