Everybody is thrilled anytime there's a new rap artist. Rap is a form of art that evolved from creative urban minorities who gave birth to the hip-hop culture. Rap music is among the most in-demand types of music. Though today much of rap music is created on major labels and its artists are highly compensated celebrities, rap originates from simple origins, developing mainly in the inner cities of places such as Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit and New York.
The precursors to rap music were funk, Latin, disco and soul music. During the '70s, dance clubs that played these types of music were very popular places for teens to spend their time. DJs spinning records at these clubs began finding innovative means to loop instrumental parts of the drum breaks and percussion features on these records. These new types of instrumental loops were great for dancing, and DJs learned that they could also make announcements and proclamations over them, since there weren't vocals to get in the way.
The origin of the Hip Hop culture was centered in the Bronx in New York. To have a much better understanding of just how the Hip Hop culture developed, we need to get a better understanding of the situations that existed at this time. To be able to understand Rap music, a person has to come to understand what exactly is known as the Hip Hop culture. Rap is an extremely important element of the evolution of this Hip Hop culture. Apart from music, Hip Hop consisted of graffiti, break dancing, new attitudes, and also a special style of clothing.
Rap music has had its ups and downs, but, through all of it, has flourished into a multi-billion dollar industry with a massive following. Rap music isn't a fad, but a musical art form which has been around for more than 20 years in the United States. Rap music is truly an American minority artist creation of which students need to be proud. Sadly, rap music isn't perceived by numerous Americans as an art form, but as a craze which they hope will soon disappear. Through the years, the faces and messages of rap music went on to evolve. Gangsta rap was born from the east coast, west coast rivalry, which also led to tragedy. Sampling was a trend utilized by many rappers in the 90's that also spurred some copyright dispute. Since its inception, rap music is still a very influential, popular and occasionally controversial form of music entertainment.
A new rap artist should have the right attitude in order to remain in the industry. In the past, people used to look down on Rap music and the Hip Hop culture. They classify the music as chaotic and the many causes of violent actions among America's teens. Neither do they look at Rap music as an art form that it really is; instead it was thought of as a fad that will hopefully disappear. Rap music has existed for more than 2 decades. Just as other genres of music have evolved and been influenced over time, Rap music also has come a long way and should be recognized for the art it has become. A new rap artist should have consistency. Consistency is easily mistaken for high frequency. Consistency is actually the idea of creating a frequency pattern, whether it is a mix tape once a week or yearly, and sticking to it. What truly hurts rappers is an extended break. Building momentum is a difficult task, and if that feat is completed, relaxing on it is the most counter-productive move that an artist can make. Although the beat and rhythm of rap music is vital to its basic structure, the strength of rap music depends on its lyrics. Rap songs often can use the same pre-recorded background music however the difference in the lyrics of the song causes them to stand out from each other. It is the lyrics of the songs which make rap music amazing.
