Why is metal detecting a well known pastime with the retired group? In case you are shocked to learn that it is, well, get in line. It's a pastime that they could enjoy alone or with others. In metal detecting, they can take it at their own speed, it does not have to be so difficult as to overly tax them but it can be hard enough for a favorable workout.
