On previous part I have discussed about how iPad Application Development has an edge over Android Application Development based on the developing environment and also due to compatibility issues. But then the question arises, Why? Why if iPad has an edge then tablets or notes are getting sold based on Android OS? Answer is in the question itself. "Devices" got it? Still not? ... Yes, Devices, multiple types of devices with different types of look and feel and sizes. Who wants the same thing which another 10 million or more has? Why don't try something new?
Android Application Development is on ever increase due to increasing popularity of the android based devices and its reach to different levels of customers. Android devices have become most affordable smart phones or tablets and has started to reach more deeper in the market then the Apple devices can penetrate due to the cost and that never changing look feeling. This encourages Android Application Development over iPad Application Development as the demand for applications increases. Google has not only provided rights to developers for the development of Android apps, but also to OEMs who can change the look and feel of the OS as per their company strategy and put it in a market, and users getting different types of options with different handsets to choose from.
iPad Application Development has bit limited reach due to its availability to everyone, as the device is not that handy or neither can be used as gaming or for entertainment device, as specially when it comes to keep it in your pocket when going to school !! So far it is clear about what strategy Apple and Google are moving forward on and as Google believes in open market and less restricts itself from being the device driven Company then being OS driven like Microsoft, I think it is going to benefit it more than Apple.
The war will still go on between the two rivals, and let's not forget Microsoft is also trying its best to reach via windows phone and its venture with Nokia. With launch of OS Windows 8 based on Apps platform in 2012. Microsoft will officially bring Apps war to your desktops or laptops. Till then lets enjoy the results of iPad Application Development and Android Application Development whether it is Angry Bird or Fruit Ninja, We are Loving it.
