I do not have a real life friend, which does not have a facebook account. This simple little page has changed how we interact with other people in the world. Friends are able to connect with you from anywhere in the world. Even their friends are able to join you if they want to. Photos can be stored and viewed at any time you choose; even who views them can be changed by you.
Facebook started out as a simple way to connect everyone together. This has slowly changed into something else we can use today. If you are someone that is like-able and connected on the internet, you will find that your audience will listen to you more. This will be a great way to tell a large number of people about anything you are selling.
It can also help you increase the traffic to a website, if you have one. A simple post on your friend's wall might even become "Viral" in a good way. There have been cases of an unknown website becoming a massive success overnight due to facebook. Friends spread the word to other friends and before you know it the world knows. It is mind-boggling how this simple little page is able to connect the world.
There are many ways to gain "Likes" on facebook. The most time tested method is to simply be a nice guy or girl. Everyone likes someone that is willing to listen, give advice and maybe even just talk for a short time. In the early days this was the best method. The bad thing about this method is that it will take a long time. By long time it can be as long as years before anyone notices you, in today's time even an hour is too long for some people. So this might not be suited for getting fast "Likes".
Some spin off websites to gain "Likes" have been popping up on the internet for some time. They range from being free websites to websites where you might need to pay money. In my personal view, if you have to "Pay" someone to "Like" you that person most probably doesn't. For internet marketers this does not mean much to them. Everything in the internet world is about speed now. The only questions that enter into their minds will be "How many" or "How fast".
They have products to sell or to promote and the only way for them to gain trust is by having more "Likes". How they actually gain those "likes" doesn't really matter to them. Marketers will be the ones investing the time in seeking out faster ways to gain those "likes". It doesn't mean they are wrong to do so. It is due to them that another way to be connected with friends has come about.
Facebook, Twitter, Myspace and other sites have now caused a little distance in the internet world. It is due to trying to find a way to gain faster "Likes" that has given birth to another type of site, which ties all of them together. Now it doesn't matter if you are in any of them, a few websites are able to track all of your accounts to make life easier.
