Modern homes now have arched windows that given them a unique look. These are the types of window wherein there are small blinds in the shape of semi-circles above the doors in the house. These are meant to let more light into the house. These are favoured by homeowners who want to deviate from the common look of straight window frames. With the slowly rising popularity of these windows, they also give way to the production of arched window blinds. If you want to experiment with the look of your house, you can start your experiment with an arched window. You can create a whole new look for your house, both inside and outside.

Once you have decided to have arched windows at home, you should think about using arched window blinds or not. To help you make this decision, you should know the advantages and disadvantages of using such blinds as window coverings.
Advantages

The use of window treatments is not only to add a touch of creativity and beauty to your window. This is not only done to allow you to express yourself in terms of your home decor. These window treatments, such as the arched window blinds, are also useful in other ways.

For one, you need to consider the idea that although an arched window will allow more light into your house without compromising your privacy, the window would add more heat to the house. This is especially true during summer time. The arched window will not only let in light but also unwanted glares. To prevent the hot glares from coming in, the arched window blinds can cover the arched window opening with style. The blinds will render you more control of the amount of light and heat that you want in.

There are also more convenient blinds that can be operated by a remote control. Thus, you can still manipulate the blinds even if they are located several feet on top of you.

Disadvantages
The arched window blinds are used to cover your arched window that is several feet high from where you are standing. This location will make the cleaning of the blinds hard to do. Window cleaning would be more tiring. Moreover, you might also have a hard time choosing the size of the blinds for the window. These arched window blinds can only be found in rare stores. You might also be in for a disappointment in blinds that are not designed with perfect arches.

However, if you have decided to use blinds still, you have to make another decision as to what type you would pick. These arched window blinds are made to fit the unique sizes of arched window types and designs of some other window blinds. There are also many choices for these window blinds in terms of colours, styles, and sizes. There are different types of window blinds for arched windows.

• Wooden arched blinds. These can be considered as permanent window treatments. These window blinds usually come with individual slats. Thus, they can be moved with flexibility to block off or allow light in. This will allow more light control then. However, these are more expensive than the other blinds designed for an arched window.

• Pleated arched blinds. These are advantageous to use in that they come in different colours such as modern blues, reds, and greens. They would give an arched window an elegant look.

• Cellular arched shades. These are fashionable blinds that are not designed to forget their functions too. They are effective at blocking off direct and harmful sunlight but they can still provide the room enough light. They can also be used without clashing with the colours and designs of traditional cellular shades.

Manufacturers are still in the process of making more varieties of arched window blinds, especially with the rising popularity of the arched windows in many homes. There are also companies which sell custom-made arched window blinds to be used with traditional blinds.
