A home with bay windows would surely have a cheerful portion with more light. This type of window structure would give a room the most amount of light that would lighten up the interiors of that room. An empty room would have depth and a unique feel. Moreover, bay window treatment requirement is minimal and it does not demand expensive maintenance too. However, you might have some tough times deciding what curtains you should use for your uniquely shaped bay window area. It would even be tougher to decide for a window with some curvy shapes.

The most important consideration in choosing the right curtains for this window area would be for the curtains to bring out more of the beauty of the window. The curtains should not conceal the beauty of your bay windows. The bay window area is usually composed of three side by side windows that are formed in a semicircle.

There are different kinds of curtains that you can use for your bay window area. Even if you will use the curtains to block out some of the light and to provide the room with some privacy, these curtains should not completely block the view outdoors. This is an especially useful tip when your window looks out into a beautiful garden in your front yard. The curtains should also make the entire area a cosy one to stay in. These are the different choices of curtains that you can have as your options to beautify your bay window area.

Roman Shades
These are classic choices for those who are looking for bay window curtain ideas. This could be because of the beauty of the fabric of the Roman shades. Your bay window area would have that tidy, cosy look. You can even make these shades all on your own at home if you have the skills and the right materials that you can use to do so. When your window gives way to a garden view, your shades should be of simple, basic colours. However, if the curtains would be meant to cover a bland city view, they should be of lively and playful colours to enhance the surroundings. You can also use window blinds with colourful patterns still. They can be easily rolled up and down depending on whether you want to see the view outdoors or maintain your privacy indoors.

Drapes
These are the more traditional decorations for the bay window area. There are drapes which will allow sheer light to come in but still maintaining the privacy of the room. Embroidered drapery fabric and solid decorative panels are also other options for the window area. These two options can provide elegance to the room. The sheer curtains and the panels can be combined for a more unique look with better benefits. The sheer coverings can be pulled and the panels stay on for a brighter room. If you want a darker area, both coverings can be pulled.

Shutters
These are ideal for homes with a rustic or urban look. The room with these coverings can still enjoy natural light and add depth to the room. These are practical choices for they are low maintenance and do not need much cleaning.
