A lot of people simply don't seem to see how vital it is to have a mailing list. Owning an email list to send your offers to each day or even every couple of days can make or break your Internet business. I have been asked over and over again if people can just use safe-lists and other list building programs or if they need their own lists.
I am going to go a bit deeper in this article on how email marketing should be executed.
Safe-lists are the first thing we are going to cover. Safe-lists are lists made up of for the most part Internet marketers. You can normally join without having to pay any type of monetary fee. When you join, you agree to receive emails from other people in the safe-list. Majority of safe-lists nowadays are credit based lists so you have to click on the credit links in the emails sent to you. You then use these credits to send email to other folks in the list, and on and on.
Now, everyone is there to get credits and send their own mailings out, but when it comes to purchasing things, no one is interested. Although you may make a sale here and there by employing these lists, it is not sufficient to make it worth your while.
But then, there is a way to use safe-lists that is worth your time. Safe-lists are a fantastic way to start growing your own list. Essentially, all you have to do is to bribe people with something of value that you give to them free of charge and they give you their email address. This way you are growing your own list which is much better.
Which brings us to the question "Do I need my own email list?" Yes you do, at least if you want to succeed. If you ask anyone who has been an Internet marketer for some time they will tell you that you can generate roughly $1 per month for every person you have on your own email list. Now, I know what you're thinking, "One dollar, yippy", but if you think about it this way 100 people equals $100 and 1,000 people equals $1,000 are you starting to realize how essential it is now?
This is an average because every person on your email list is not going to simply buy a $1 product from you every month. The way it is works out is, when you have people on your list they are more inclined to buy from you as long as you give quality, and you should be able to sell 1 product once a month to every 1 person out of 50 who are on your email list. This is just an example, but if each sale you make makes you $50, there is your $1 per person each month.
Another thing about having your own list instead of using a safe-list is you can send out your offers whenever you wish. And unlike safe-lists that throttle your mailings and how many people you can mail to, you can develop your email list as big as you want and email them whenever you like. In addition, you are not limited on how you build your mailing list, feel free to employ any technique you want. Safe-lists can help you to build your email list but there are many other options to list building. You can put up a blog and have people subscribe to your mailing list to be updated when you have a new post. It doesn't stop there however, you can use any technique or program you wish that can help you build your mailing list. Basically, you can grow your own mailing list to any extent you like.
So, safe-list or your own list, which one should you focus your efforts on? And the answer is both, utilize safe-lists to begin developing your own email list.
